The SAL has officially begun and with spoiler images starting to appear on Ravelry I figured it was safe to share an image of the colourway created for this round of the ITW Spin Along

Far from it actually! But not my words, instead it is the spoken word of another. And with that being said, I will be short with the words and long with the links.

You might want to launch your iTunes now…

Wander on over to a fabulous knitting/spinning podcast named the Manic Purl hosted by Chrissy and take notice of whose name is listed in the show notes for Episode 62 – Finishing Techniques: Seaming Demystified . For those of you with about an hour to spare, sit down, grab a project and enjoy the show. For those with a little less time; fast forward to 40 minutes into the show to listen what has me walking on the clouds!

Can you believe the winter solstice is upon us already?

I for one cannot. Where did this year go?!

I would love to reflect on the past year in this entry, but wow, it went by so fast I am not sure I even remember it myself! However, without a moment’s hesitation, I can say that this was by far the most exciting and rewarding year ever…

For that I Thank each and everyone of you.

I am so excited for what is in store for 2010. My calendar is littered with fiber festivals and events – some I will attend as a shopper, others as a vendor. Once dates and applications are confirmed I will formally announce my schedule. In addition to the festivals I am finalizing the details of a monthly fiber club, but not really a club, more like an un-club/spin along concept. I promise to post the details as soon as they are finished!!

And finally, with the holidays upon us I have decided to close the shop until Tuesday January 12th 2010.

I wish you all a very safe and happy holiday season.

Happy Spinning,
Cris

Strange how sometimes the more that is on the To-Do list the quicker things get done. Yet sometimes the more items there are on the To-Do list, the slower things get done; it is like you get stuck and don’t really know where to start. Yea, if that made any sense to anyone else but me – you know what I am talking about. So in an effort to cut to the chase and get the ball rolling here we go…

1) I just started a Facebook Fan Page HERE. Feel free to take this moment to click the link and become an ITW fan, then come back and finish reading what is in store. I am new to the whole Facebook thing so I may be a little slow it getting that going, but I will!

2) Thanks to the encouragement of some fabulous people I am going start a Ravelry ITW forum group – that will be done sometime this week! I will be sure to let everyone know when it is open and ready for members!

3) Creat a plan for the ITW fiber club and formally announce it. Just an FYI – I am looking at a late fall announcement on this.

4) Finalize details on blog giveaway to be announced in a couple weeks. Stay tuned, you will not want to miss this one…

5) Create a newsletter format for upcoming shop updates. If your interested in being on the mailing list please take a moment to subscribe to the ITW newsletter. I promise not to spam you, or share your information.

6) Spend every waking moment in the studio preparing for Etsy updates and the upcoming fiber festivals!!

So there you have it, some, but not all of the To-Do list. This morning I decided rather then keep it locked away in an endless brain loop I would share it with each and everyone of you. Now, it is no longer a list of ideas – it is a list of commitments!!

Individual pictures are available for viewing on Flickr. Or feel free to check the ‘Photos’ page for the slide show – that is if you want to – it is your choice really.

I am just so excited about this batch because it is the largest batch of painted fiber to date. Plus I figured out how to effectively and efficiently dye up a full pound of the same colourway at a time !! Think phrases like “a sweaters worth of fiber” or perhaps “Phat Fiber Sampler”  or my personal favorite: “ITW (Into The Whirled) Fiber club” …
