Oh it was a very rainy day!!

All week emails sailed back and forth between co-vendors and potential visitors. Weather reports were shared on a daily basis. Would it rain or would the powers that be take mercy on the collection of vendors destined to stand in a field on April 23rd? With no rain date scheduled it was almost pre-determined to be a wash out…

But was it?! Yes, the fields were rain soaked swampland. Yes, more then half the vendors scheduled to show canceled. Yes, more then one car got stuck in the mud. And YES, the day was a HUGE success!!

Please allow me to Thank each and every person who found their way to the Chancellor’s Sheep & Wool Showcase. It was cold and rainy and muddy but you awesome people found it in your hearts to pull on your wellies, gather the umbrellas and don your finest rain gear…

Braids and Samples
On behalf of every vendor in attendance – Thank You.

I learned a lot of things on Saturday. Perhaps the greatest lesson learned was that there is nothing like the comfort of a wool lined cubicle in the middle of a rain storm to entice folks to linger and chat!

Another year, another day of celebration! The Chancellor’s S&W, also known as ‘Clermont’ marks another anniversary for ITW…

Two years ago I decided on a whim to gather my “inventory” and attend a festival the weekend before opening my Etsy shop – which has now been upgraded to the new ITW Online Shop. It goes without saying – I was terrified! What if nothing sold? What if people hated what I was showing? What if I did not have enough singles? The list went on and on. But something awesome happened that day. History (blog history that is) shows us that the show was in fact a huge success and the list of fears, needless and a waste of energy!

Along with the overwhelming response, something else happened. Something that never crossed my mind – I met and befriended the most amazing group of people. Like minded people. People who understood the language I speak, admired the same things I admire, people that ‘squee’ when excited, people who hoard skeins of yarn and braids of fiber. I met ‘my’ people. And I am delighted to say that I will be vending along side many of those same people on the 23rd of April…

Has really been a year?

Really? One year since ITW was launched?!

Over the past year I have learned more then I can even begin to describe. I have been blessed with many things since the launch of ITW, but none of them rival the friendships formed. To describe the past year is virtually impossible. Instead I will just say that it was spectacular and thank each and every person I had the privilege of working with, talking to, chatting with and in some rare yet delightful instances; actually meeting!

I think one of the best parts of ITW’s birthday is that it coincides with the Chancellor’s Sheep & Wool Festival which pretty much guarantees lots of colourful pictures in this post…

In celebration of ITW’s birthday there will be a shop update on Saturday May 1st at 8:00pm EST. And, as an expression of my sincere appreciation; shipping fees will be disabled from 12:00am Saturday morning until 11:59pm Saturday night.

Thank you again and see you Saturday!

It is that time of year again! Time for the Clermont – Chancellor’s Sheep & Wool festival in Germantown NY!!

Thinking of last year practically brings tears to my eyes – I cannot express how amazing it was to be part of that festival. The day was spectacular, the people were awesome and the response to ITW was overwhelming.

Once the schedule of events and map is made available I will let you know where to find ITW at the festival!

um. WOW.

I wish to Thank everyone who wandered into my ‘lil corner of the world at the Clermont Sheep and Wool festival. Your comments, complements, words of wisdom, squeals of delight, and yes; purchases, reminded me how incredible the fiber community is. Thank you.

Humble appreciate aside – Saturday was A W E S O M E .

[11:00am Saturday morning]

I could probably type for hours and not come close to describing how fabulous the day was or how incredible the people were. And I think that was is what it is all about – the people. Yes, I made sales, and appreciate them more then I can even begin to express, but, I got to meet so many like minded, creative, interesting, wonderful people. I look forward to seeing many of you again!

[4:30pm Saturday evening]

Before I head over to Etsy to open my shop doors, I one again thank everyone for their support and give a special thank you to the love of my life, James; a man who even on two hours of sleep managed to unpack the Jeep, assemble the display crates and calm my nerves all in the same hour. Thank you.

While at the Chancellor’s Sheep and Wool festival this weekend, be sure stop by the silent auction. Eight ounces of Falkland handpainted wool top from i.t.w awaits your bid…

Only 5 more days until the Clermont Sheep & Wool festival!!

Things have been hectic around here to say the least! Figured I should stop in and let you that things are going really well. I still have pounds of fiber to send through the drumcarder, plus a couple pounds of beautiful Border Leicester locks to dye up. But I will share those tidbits later…

Today, I share my new business cards/sample tags!

My hope is that the card will ultimately act as a spinners sample card and perhaps bring an extra value to a small piece of paper.

See the title? See it?

Not only I am attending the Chancellor’s Sheep & Wool festival in Germantown NY – I will be participating as a vendor! Crazy huh?

Originally I had intended to simply attend and see the layout of the property, make lists of things that I would need as a vendor in 2010, take notes on effective booth layout; you know, research and prepare. Well, on Monday I changed my mind. I just felt that I needed to be part of this years event and I knew that if I did not make the commitment – I would regret it.

You may not hear from me for a couple weeks – I have so much to do! Before I get lost in pounds of fiber, here is some information on the event:
